Fast Flying Ferry

High-speed hydrofoil ferries travel the North Sea Channel daily to Amsterdam from the coastal towns of IJmuiden and Velsen. These are mostly used by commuters who work in Amsterdam, but they also are a very affordable and entertaining ride for tourists.

These watercraft traveled up to 65 kph. Using Voskhod 2M hydrofoilsp, Connexxion provided a regular transport service over the North Sea Canal between Amsterdam Central Station and Velsen-Zuid in the Netherlands. In December 2013, Connexxion's Fast Flying Ferry service ended, due to a new speed limit.
